Ed Mitchell
Head of BluNiche UK
Ed has been part of the development of the Product Recall market since the late 1990s, and has been heavily involved in building Product Recall businesses from scratch, developing market leading products and coverages and building relationships with strategic partners from brokers to reinsurers. Ed’s focus has been on building sustainable, long-term profitable portfolios both in London and other territories outperforming the market over the cycle.
Ed was the founding chair of the LMA Product Recall Committee (2018 – 2023).
Alexander King
Senior Underwriter, BluNiche
Alex has been working in the banking and insurance sectors for more than a decade.
He joined BluNiche from Allianz, where his roles included Senior Product Recall Underwriter. During his time in this role Alex utilised his strong underwriting discipline and excellent broker relationships to help establish the largest product recall book in London.
Other roles at Allianz included Liability Underwriter (Clinical Trials) and Head of Global Process Coordination within the CUO Liability Function, which has given him a unique insight into the financial workings of large organisations – enabling him to accurately assess risk and source realistic insurance products for his clients.
Lucy Roper
Underwriter, BluNiche
Lucy’s insurance industry experience includes roles at Talbot and MS Amlin, where she worked within the Product Recall team and developed a keen interest in the area.
Lucy graduated from Durham University in 2019. Her career highlights to date include developing reports and processes to improve the efficiency of the underwriting team and partaking in the Lloyd’s Future Minds project in which she created a product to insure against reputational harm.
